The lucky number is 6...

So we are done to 6 weeks and 6 days...or 6 weeks, five days and a wake up as my dad would say...Thats when our baby girl Mya is supposed to born. Becky and I are both ready for her to be here...wow...Becky said I will get to grow up with Mya...What do you think to that statement? Do you feel old when you tell you're kid to do something and you finish it up with, "Because I'm the parent, that's why." ?? Or is it in the sleepless nights, of constant crying and feeding...or the first time you change a diaper? I guess only time will tell.
We are looking forward to bringing her to Ohio and Michigan to meet her family after Christmas. Becky will be flying to Detroit the day after Christmas, and I will be flying home on January 3rd. Pray that we can get out of Denver...no snowstorms like last year.
My buddy Joel is supposed to be coming back to America on the same day that mya is born, he has some funny stories from Korea. We just got a package from him today, it contained cookies from Korea, chopsticks from Japan, with no instructions, these aren't your average chopsticks either, they are really fancy, and a DVD titled, "Lost in Toyko." I am looking forward to watching that, I hope there is commentary, knowing Joel there probably is.
Last night at Youth Group we had 24 teens/kids. Somehow we've gotten to where we have some fifth graders, and a lot of 6th graders. This makes it harder for me to control them, but it makes it better for me in the long run. I am praying that somehow God will make a difference in lives of some of these Kids and make a difference in Colby.
Ok...I have rambled enough for now...

Youth Group...

Youth Group…the M.O.B. has started off really good this year. We kicked the year off with a 3P night. We had pancakes, pajamas, and pillow fights. There were 31 kids to kick off our youth group…a bunch of sixth graders…I am praying for patience. We had an awesome time, Becky made 6 dozen pancakes, with a few left over. We talked about what Jesus means in our lives, I did popcorn questions to all of my leaders and they did a great job. At the end of the night we did one last pillow fight with everybody. I let the pillow fight go for a couple of minutes before jumping in, when I did Kale yelled, “Everybody against Tim.” I had no chance.
Last night there were only 15 teens, but I was okay with it. Most of our Heartland kids were at home doing homework. The CHS band and choir were at State Fair, so a lot of our kids were gone…but we had 3 new kids come! Which is awesome to me. They were Jr. Highers but that is what our group is quickly becoming. It would be nice if I had some other adults come on board to do crowd control, but hey were ok.
I am working on Fundraising for the International Youth Conference, Set Apart, in December. We have about $750 to raise and it’s hard right now to motivate teens and myself when they are involved in so many school things. I was trying to remember if I still participated in youth group and fundraisers when I was in football and I am pretty sure that I did. I need a lesson in how to motivate teens and parents. We have a meeting Sunday, any ideas you can give would help.
Well, I think I am done for now…Keep Praying for our little Mya!!

Becky is on the Blog!

Well,
The Morehart house has not had a dull moment in a very long time. We are pulled left and right and many other directions. Finally, ordination is over and most of the traveling is over. Now it’s just shorter trips to the doctors holding our breaths each visit. Our daughter is growing leaps and bounds and will arrive in a little more than 9 weeks. The shock of our pregnancy has dulled and now parenthood is rapidly approaching. WOW!!! Tim as a dad! Mya’s room is all but finished. The finishing touches is the last of the furniture and of course her. Mom will get to spend 10 days in Colby, Kansas…
Now that I feel more computer knowledgeable…I will probably leave the writing to him. He has more to say about funny things with work and other matters. I just work, eat and sleep!! I know…you’re impressed. That’s it for now…Off to another appointment.

Back so soon...

So...my mom keeps asking me to updat e my blog...and know I have a little time to actually sit at the computer and put an update on here.
Where do I begin??? Well, teen camp was a lot of fun this year, I have a lot of pictures and hopefully I can post a few in a couple of days. The best thing I heard at teen camp this year from a speaker was, "Where ever you are be there...enjoy the moment."
We spend so much of our life worrying about what is to come in the future and we forget to enjoy what God is giving to us everyday. So I say to any of you who might actually read this..."Take a deep breath...hold it...exhale and say a prayer to God thanking Him for everything He has blessed you with!"
After Youth camp, I was home for about 4 hours before heading off to Mexico. If you have never been on a missions trip out of the country, I would suggest it...IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!! I don't know where to begin......There were so many emotions that hit me through the week. I almost started crying on the first day when we first got to our work site, I couldn't believe how much stuff I have and how little these families have. I also couldn't believe the smell...I can't even explain it if you've never experienced it.
We finished 3 houses, ok by the word house I mean a 2 room building that has 4 actual solid walls and a door. These houses were probably smaller then my living room, and thats not that big.
The last day we went to an orphanage and played with the kids for a few hours...there was one little girl who was four and all I knew is that she kept saying she wanted her momma...Heartbreaking.
Becky didn't go...It was a little disappointing but probably better in the long run. We spent a whole day at the hospital in El Paso...to bad Joel was in Korea...if you want to know about this experience you'll have to call me...all I will say is that it was a long day and that God answers prayers!!
I am working on a video of Mexico and other things, hopefully it will be done soon so I can get it to family.
I enjoyed having family here, being so far away makes you treasure the time you spend with them...James sorry about the trip to Hays:) Smile God loves you...By the way, if you ever need a kitchen redone...James is the man...it looks awesome...it's actually kind of fun to wash the dishes. And it is always more fun to stink with your family then anyone else!! Let me know when you are bringing Rebekah to spend some time in Cripple Creek, we will go eat at the best pizza place in town again...just don't order a hamburger...
Ok...I will have more to say later but until then...
Love Ya...

Sunday Nights...Ah July 2nd

So it is Monday morning once again, I survived another Sunday Night! What’s so big about Sunday Night you may ask, well we have a teen hangout time and a cookout. They have all been different.
The first night we were at Pastor Gene and Joy’s house and we played volleyball in the dark, played goofy golf…which is fastly becoming my favorite game ever!
The second Sunday we were at our house and got out the new slip and slides. The 5th and 6th graders loved this, the older teens were a little to cool to hang out with them, but it was ok. The high schoolers left after we ate to go get one of their friends in revenge…side note. Over the past year and a half they have toilet papered a house or two. Forked yards and gotten permission to destroy each others rooms. Stuff like turning each others beds upside down or wrapping them in saran wrap or papers or duck tape. This one was one of the best ones yet, including stacking the beds on each other, hiding all of his clothes, and taping his boxers to the ceiling! This one I didn’t help with, but it sounded like fun…After they left Becky and I played the Wii with the Jr. Highers…We bowled and one of the girls let go of the remote and smoked her head…it was hilarious!!!!
The third week we went out into the country…I mean out in to the country, it’s about 20 miles from here and there is only one road in and one road out, and your cell phones don’t work. We finally found it and went back and found the car that was coming later. We sat around for a while and then she gave us the tour…good thing it wasn’t a big tour…they own 305 acres, and raise and breed horses. We had fried chicken and potato salad…and a few other things. After dinner Kelly, the host said, “ Well Tim, do you want me to show you how to rope a steer?” I was like most definitely…I thought this would be easy…not so much, it took me a while to rope the metal steer but once I did it was in trouble, I pulled it through the yard! Her husband Rob, had a great time making fun of the way I through the rope…so did the teens. We probably spent an hour and a half trying to rope it…and yes I have gone shopping to look to but one…You never know when a Youth Pastor will have to double as a ranch hand.
Last night we were going to go to our friends, the Epp’s, who just came back from Nicaragua. I took a nap yesterday during the race and woke up to three missed phone calls from Rich. I called him back and he told me Judy was in an accident and was at the hospital. Then he told me she was hit by a Semi Truck…And I was worried, here is what happened. They were in the right lane at the stop light and the truck was in the left. The trucker decided he was going to turn and turned right into them, luckily there was a light because if he was going any faster it could have been really bad. She got out of the hospital in time to be there last night but she was really sore. We had sloppy joes and hot dogs, had smores and swam for a long time. We had 13 teens last night, and we made a whirl pool in the pool, a lot of them had never done it, it was a blast. On the other note it is July 2nd and were about to get really busy. We leave for camp exactly one week from when I am writing this. We come home Friday morning and leave for Mexico 4 hours later. After Mexico we get to see family!!!!! By the way James, Becky is looking forward to her new counter tops!!!
