LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!

Have fun in Florida Daddy... Bring back something special!

Home Sweet Michigan

Maddie and Kaine wrestle on the floor as one of the many past times at Grammy and Grandpa's house. So is being spun around on the kitchen floor until you almost puke by Uncle Matt. Mya is still a little too young for these two sports. Maddie was the person that got to hold Mya and it was just too cute. The oldest grandbaby holding the youngest. Then I let Nickolai hold her. It was really driving Amy up the wall. I think that is why I did it. She did finally hold her followed by Chrissy. It was such a crazy night that first night, but at least the plane ride was okay. Tim is suffering or sleeping for Jesus in Orlando, Florida with six teens. It sounds like the trip has been well worth every penny so far. Mya and I have missed Daddy so very much though. He will definately have the first night all for himself!!!! Trust me! The first two noghts were good, but the third night of the Sherta sheep song with jusy Mommy didn't work. She was up five times. She hasn't done that in many many weeks. One good thing in Michigan is the weather. Granted we are not in Florida, but some days it seems close compared to Colby. Denver had a wind chill of -11 when we left and we got here and it was around 37 degrees. Not bad. I am sending the next picture sideways because it is so cute, and because Mommy and Grammy still throught Mya needed to dress for the weather. Love ya!

"This will hurt me more than it will hurt you."

So yesterday I finally realized what those famous words my dad always said to me before he gave me a spanking. I mean I was the one who was bad (except for that one time JAMES) and I was the one who was gonna get me butt smacked with the belt, paddle, wodden spoon or a hand. Well, I never understood it until yesterday...I felt like I was the worst person in the world.
YESTERDAY...We took Mya for her "Healthy Child" checkup and it includes getting shots. Well, Mya and I were there hanging out and the nurse came in with the paper work for me to sign...it's obviously a standard form because one of the questions was, Is the person recieving the vacination pregnant? Well da...NO,not now or ever. Any ways, I had to sign my name on her shot chart, 6 times, not good, I didn't know they ever had that many shots...I am certain I didn't get allof the shots she will in her lifetime. Ok, so they final came in with the stuff, 3 nurses, and they said, "WHO'S HOLDING HER DOWN?"
Well, that was my job,I got to hold down her arms. One nurse held down her legs and there was a nurse on either side of her. They counted 3...2...1 and all I saw was Mya's big blue eyes looking at me saying, "How can you let them do this to me?" She got 4 shots, 2 in each leg...Now I can say, "dad...I think I understand how you felt."

Love Ya...

Mommy's Bragging

Mommy's turn to brag. Daddy always has the time to get on here and tell everyone how much that Mya looks like him. The funny thing is everyone that we see in town says the same thing. My neurologist thinks that Mya looks like Tim! I am continually apologizing, but it will be funny some day when the attitude backs up the look. Wednesday is doctor day at our house. I have my 6 week check up and Mya gets her first real round of shots. Daddy will have to deal with the unhappy baby though. Baby Tylenol will be his best friend. I will be having tests run and talking with the doctor to see if my new medicine is working to help my seizures and still function as a new mom.

One thing is for sure...Tim and I are really ready for Christmas this year. Trying to get Mya to put her ornament on the tree was a little tricky, and trying to get a picture of the whole family including Bossy is impossible. Maybe next year!

Happy Birthday One Month!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I have Big Toes...Just like my family.

What we have learned in the past month is a lot of team work. Our little girl is growing leaps and bounds! For those of you that like statistics of Mya she is now 8 lbs. even and is 20 3/4 inches long. We will get some pictures on the blog but if you are close to either of the grandma's then they will have 4 new pictures that only they have. She is taking to the powder mix okay instead of the already mixed stuff. She is sleeping more at night which is good for Tim and I. She has had tresh since she was about 12 days old, and if it doesn't clear up in the next two weeks then it is something else. Pray that this new medicine will do the trick. Yesterday Tim, Mya and I lit the first advent candle at our church. It was a nice time. Mya did great and Tim said a great blessing towards Mya. We are looking forward to her first Christmas, and we cannot wait to see everyone when we get to Michigan. He rdedication is going to be January 6, 2007 at Whiteford Wesleyan Church. Church starts at 10 am and Grandpa Shumway will be doing the dedication.

Love you guys!!!

Poop Happens

Well...first night home comes with new challenges. I was up with Mya until 3:30am and then Tim took over. I was changing her before I went to sleep and that's when it happened. Her feet were in the air and the show started. She pooped everywhere. On herself on her blanket and on us. We laughed the whole time and she sobbed. All went well. She would only sleep if Tim or I held her. SHe is so very amazing!!! I love her a lot!

Strike a Pose

You wanted a close up...is this close enough???
She tried to back her way out of this outfit.
Going home!!!
I'm a cutie!! Thanks for the hat Shawna.
Should we take a nap together???

Feeling Defeated

How do I start this…what do I say…ok, today I feel defeated. Sometimes you give everything you have and it’s still not enough. Let me explain this through a true football game.
Last night was the end of the regular season for Colby High School Football. We were playing Goodland, a team west of us about 30 miles. THIS IS THE OHIO STATE MICHIGAN RIVALRY…
Our boys came out pumped! There was something special about last night. Last year we played in Goodland, freezing cold with 10 inches of snow on the ground, Carhart was King. This year it was different, it had gotten up to 68 degrees earlier, nice football weather with a breeze.
We kicked off to start the game…and we dot the ball back right away…fumble I think. We took it in to score!!! We had our way through the first quarter and keep it up going into halftime up 21 to 14. This was the year…We are going to the state playoffs…All we have to do is win.
The boys came out and controlled the tempo and the game…we started to roll the score up on them. Were up 33 to 14 with just about six minutes to go in the game…Were going to the playoffs!!! All we have to do is run the clock out…We fumbled on the five yard line…they do a couple of plays and put it into the end zone. 33 to 21. It happens again..33 to 27…extra point no good. It’s okay, were still up.
We run the play back to the 40. Ok…just run out the clock. We do handoff and reverse to a fumble…things are not going our way.
Goodland scores again to take the lead…now were losing 33 to34…we can still win with a field goal…And we turn the ball over again…Goodland punches it in and now has a lead of 41 to 33…we can still come back and send it into overtime…With just over a minute to go…we throw an interception…They run the clock out and we send Goodland to the playoffs…How is it that things can change in just 6 minutes?
Read that line again…How is it that things can change in just 6 minutes? This is how I feel about ministry today. We were cruising along…youth group is getting bigger, we have at least 25 kids every night, the church just bought a van…and now I feel defeated. I’m not going to say why…But that’s how I feel…I know that the devil is loving my attitude right now…And I know that God will watch over me and take care of me but right now I feel like a fly that is getting hit over and over with a flyswatter that won’t die. I’m still buzzing and someone keeps smacking me with the stupid flyswatter…I feel like I am laying there and asking them to keep doing it…Come on hit me one more time I can handle it.Where do you go…what do you do when you feel defeated? I’ve prayed constantly…it’s still there. I FEEL DEFEATED…………….

Mya's Room

Here are some pictures of Mya's room...

This is on the back of the door.

Isn't this cool?

My wife is an amazing artist!!! I Love Her...

Fun Pictures of Mya!!!

We got pictures taken the other day...this was our free one.
So I know these didn't come out the best...this weekend we will try to scan them and put them on the blog again.

This one is a side view of her head and her arm.

So we have been to the doctor a lot lately. We found out yesterday that the earliest Mya could be born in November 1st...We had an ultrasound today and got some really cool pictures, she had the hiccups and it was funny to watch!!!

$$$$$

So we are seriously trying to raise money for our trip to Orlando...without using the word Orlando too much. I have 6 teens going with me to International Youth Conference in December...I am so used to just working and having everything paid for because that's how we always did things in Youth Group, but today is alot different. I have a couple of Seniors who are going but don't want to do any work to get there. I guess they just think that their parents will pay for it if they don't have the money. I can't imagine what it would be like to ask my parents for $700 for a trip. And I really can't see my dad giving me that money if he had it.
We had our church's annual fall festival last weekend and did a pie auction and slave auction, we made $1500 so we are 2/7 of the way of raising all of the money. The next fundraiser we are doing is a silent meal auction. We have 10 different meals being made by ladies in the church to auction off, this is the easiest fundraiser for me.
Ok switching gears... We are now under 5 weeks for the arrival of Baby Mya, 32 days and a wakeup. We got pictures taken a couple of days ago, there were some really good ones. Hopefully we will remember to bring them with us at Christmas time. We had an ultrasound done last week, Mya weighed about 4 pounds 8 oz, she is gonna be a big girl.
I think I've rambled enough...

The lucky number is 6...

So we are done to 6 weeks and 6 days...or 6 weeks, five days and a wake up as my dad would say...Thats when our baby girl Mya is supposed to born. Becky and I are both ready for her to be here...wow...Becky said I will get to grow up with Mya...What do you think to that statement? Do you feel old when you tell you're kid to do something and you finish it up with, "Because I'm the parent, that's why." ?? Or is it in the sleepless nights, of constant crying and feeding...or the first time you change a diaper? I guess only time will tell.
We are looking forward to bringing her to Ohio and Michigan to meet her family after Christmas. Becky will be flying to Detroit the day after Christmas, and I will be flying home on January 3rd. Pray that we can get out of Denver...no snowstorms like last year.
My buddy Joel is supposed to be coming back to America on the same day that mya is born, he has some funny stories from Korea. We just got a package from him today, it contained cookies from Korea, chopsticks from Japan, with no instructions, these aren't your average chopsticks either, they are really fancy, and a DVD titled, "Lost in Toyko." I am looking forward to watching that, I hope there is commentary, knowing Joel there probably is.
Last night at Youth Group we had 24 teens/kids. Somehow we've gotten to where we have some fifth graders, and a lot of 6th graders. This makes it harder for me to control them, but it makes it better for me in the long run. I am praying that somehow God will make a difference in lives of some of these Kids and make a difference in Colby.
Ok...I have rambled enough for now...

Youth Group...

Youth Group…the M.O.B. has started off really good this year. We kicked the year off with a 3P night. We had pancakes, pajamas, and pillow fights. There were 31 kids to kick off our youth group…a bunch of sixth graders…I am praying for patience. We had an awesome time, Becky made 6 dozen pancakes, with a few left over. We talked about what Jesus means in our lives, I did popcorn questions to all of my leaders and they did a great job. At the end of the night we did one last pillow fight with everybody. I let the pillow fight go for a couple of minutes before jumping in, when I did Kale yelled, “Everybody against Tim.” I had no chance.
Last night there were only 15 teens, but I was okay with it. Most of our Heartland kids were at home doing homework. The CHS band and choir were at State Fair, so a lot of our kids were gone…but we had 3 new kids come! Which is awesome to me. They were Jr. Highers but that is what our group is quickly becoming. It would be nice if I had some other adults come on board to do crowd control, but hey were ok.
I am working on Fundraising for the International Youth Conference, Set Apart, in December. We have about $750 to raise and it’s hard right now to motivate teens and myself when they are involved in so many school things. I was trying to remember if I still participated in youth group and fundraisers when I was in football and I am pretty sure that I did. I need a lesson in how to motivate teens and parents. We have a meeting Sunday, any ideas you can give would help.
Well, I think I am done for now…Keep Praying for our little Mya!!
Love Ya…

Becky is on the Blog!

Well,
The Morehart house has not had a dull moment in a very long time. We are pulled left and right and many other directions. Finally, ordination is over and most of the traveling is over. Now it’s just shorter trips to the doctors holding our breaths each visit. Our daughter is growing leaps and bounds and will arrive in a little more than 9 weeks. The shock of our pregnancy has dulled and now parenthood is rapidly approaching. WOW!!! Tim as a dad! Mya’s room is all but finished. The finishing touches is the last of the furniture and of course her. Mom will get to spend 10 days in Colby, Kansas…
Now that I feel more computer knowledgeable…I will probably leave the writing to him. He has more to say about funny things with work and other matters. I just work, eat and sleep!! I know…you’re impressed. That’s it for now…Off to another appointment.

Back so soon...

So...my mom keeps asking me to updat e my blog...and know I have a little time to actually sit at the computer and put an update on here.
Where do I begin??? Well, teen camp was a lot of fun this year, I have a lot of pictures and hopefully I can post a few in a couple of days. The best thing I heard at teen camp this year from a speaker was, "Where ever you are be there...enjoy the moment."
We spend so much of our life worrying about what is to come in the future and we forget to enjoy what God is giving to us everyday. So I say to any of you who might actually read this..."Take a deep breath...hold it...exhale and say a prayer to God thanking Him for everything He has blessed you with!"
After Youth camp, I was home for about 4 hours before heading off to Mexico. If you have never been on a missions trip out of the country, I would suggest it...IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!! I don't know where to begin......There were so many emotions that hit me through the week. I almost started crying on the first day when we first got to our work site, I couldn't believe how much stuff I have and how little these families have. I also couldn't believe the smell...I can't even explain it if you've never experienced it.
We finished 3 houses, ok by the word house I mean a 2 room building that has 4 actual solid walls and a door. These houses were probably smaller then my living room, and thats not that big.
The last day we went to an orphanage and played with the kids for a few hours...there was one little girl who was four and all I knew is that she kept saying she wanted her momma...Heartbreaking.
Becky didn't go...It was a little disappointing but probably better in the long run. We spent a whole day at the hospital in El Paso...to bad Joel was in Korea...if you want to know about this experience you'll have to call me...all I will say is that it was a long day and that God answers prayers!!
I am working on a video of Mexico and other things, hopefully it will be done soon so I can get it to family.
I enjoyed having family here, being so far away makes you treasure the time you spend with them...James sorry about the trip to Hays:) Smile God loves you...By the way, if you ever need a kitchen redone...James is the man...it looks awesome...it's actually kind of fun to wash the dishes. And it is always more fun to stink with your family then anyone else!! Let me know when you are bringing Rebekah to spend some time in Cripple Creek, we will go eat at the best pizza place in town again...just don't order a hamburger...
Ok...I will have more to say later but until then...
Love Ya...

Sunday Nights...Ah July 2nd

So it is Monday morning once again, I survived another Sunday Night! What’s so big about Sunday Night you may ask, well we have a teen hangout time and a cookout. They have all been different.
The first night we were at Pastor Gene and Joy’s house and we played volleyball in the dark, played goofy golf…which is fastly becoming my favorite game ever!
The second Sunday we were at our house and got out the new slip and slides. The 5th and 6th graders loved this, the older teens were a little to cool to hang out with them, but it was ok. The high schoolers left after we ate to go get one of their friends in revenge…side note. Over the past year and a half they have toilet papered a house or two. Forked yards and gotten permission to destroy each others rooms. Stuff like turning each others beds upside down or wrapping them in saran wrap or papers or duck tape. This one was one of the best ones yet, including stacking the beds on each other, hiding all of his clothes, and taping his boxers to the ceiling! This one I didn’t help with, but it sounded like fun…After they left Becky and I played the Wii with the Jr. Highers…We bowled and one of the girls let go of the remote and smoked her head…it was hilarious!!!!
The third week we went out into the country…I mean out in to the country, it’s about 20 miles from here and there is only one road in and one road out, and your cell phones don’t work. We finally found it and went back and found the car that was coming later. We sat around for a while and then she gave us the tour…good thing it wasn’t a big tour…they own 305 acres, and raise and breed horses. We had fried chicken and potato salad…and a few other things. After dinner Kelly, the host said, “ Well Tim, do you want me to show you how to rope a steer?” I was like most definitely…I thought this would be easy…not so much, it took me a while to rope the metal steer but once I did it was in trouble, I pulled it through the yard! Her husband Rob, had a great time making fun of the way I through the rope…so did the teens. We probably spent an hour and a half trying to rope it…and yes I have gone shopping to look to but one…You never know when a Youth Pastor will have to double as a ranch hand.
Last night we were going to go to our friends, the Epp’s, who just came back from Nicaragua. I took a nap yesterday during the race and woke up to three missed phone calls from Rich. I called him back and he told me Judy was in an accident and was at the hospital. Then he told me she was hit by a Semi Truck…And I was worried, here is what happened. They were in the right lane at the stop light and the truck was in the left. The trucker decided he was going to turn and turned right into them, luckily there was a light because if he was going any faster it could have been really bad. She got out of the hospital in time to be there last night but she was really sore. We had sloppy joes and hot dogs, had smores and swam for a long time. We had 13 teens last night, and we made a whirl pool in the pool, a lot of them had never done it, it was a blast. On the other note it is July 2nd and were about to get really busy. We leave for camp exactly one week from when I am writing this. We come home Friday morning and leave for Mexico 4 hours later. After Mexico we get to see family!!!!! By the way James, Becky is looking forward to her new counter tops!!!

Finally Got A Break...

Ok...so Heather was wondering if we were still living, and I finally have time to sit down at the Church computer and write on this blog. We have been busy, we've been to Colorado a couple of times over Spring Break, and also to Oklahoma Wesleyan, in Bartelsville Oklahoma. So yes, we've been busy but they were all good trips.
We went to Colorado Springs at the beginning of Spring Break...it was awesome! We drove around Pikes Peak at sunset, it was so beautiful, we went the next morning. We went to Home Depot to get new handles and knobs for our kitchen, some shopping at the mall, and a lot of relaxing in the hot tub, oh yeah and who could forget TEXAS ROADHOUSE!!!!!
The next weekend we went on Spirtiual Retreat with 7 teens and 2 adult helpers to the beautiful $200,000 home in the mountains. We had a great time learning, growing, skating, and climbing mountains together!!!
Then we went the next weekend to Oklahoma, had a wonderful time for the most part, until we went to Wal-Mart and Becky tried on a pair of pants and got a cut from an old used razor blade. If you want the deatils you'll have to call us. Over all it was a great trip, they had an awesome speaker who was there just for the Youth Pastors/Sponsors...He was a refreashing Spirit to listen to and learn from.
You would think that these trips would be enough for us...but you would be wrong. We've always got to have something going on. Here's our next couple of weeks. This Saturday, comedian Ken Davis will be in town for a concert, we get to help with it, we'll do a product table and help set up.
Then the next weekend, April 21st, we are doing an auction lunch...Becky and I were told we will feed anwhere from 300 to 500 people. I wish I could pray to heaven and have my bread and fish be multiplied and that be enough, like it was for Jesus and the many many people.
Then the weekend after that, I get the big monster off of my back...Acquire The Fire...We have 60 tickets and I am down to getting rid of the last 6. It will be an awesome time once we get there. We're taking the Heartland Christian School's activity bus, which is pretty nice.
After that we don't have anything huge until May 20th. That's the day we go to Topeka to meet with the DBMD for the last time, hopefully. It will be a 2 hour meeting to tell me for sure if I am getting Ordained, I first have to fill out the 9 page form!!!!Yipee!!!!
June is full of little activities and when we get to July, I will be praying for vacation to come. We have camp July 9th-13th, and we leave that Friday nightthe (13th) for Mexico, we come home on the 20th and Ordination is on the 27th. If anybody wants info on ordination go to www.kdwc.org
and click on the Family Gathering page. That's it for now...
Love Ya...

Time to Salute our Presidents!!!

It’s Friday once again!!!! Yeah. We still have a lot going on. I’ll get to that in a minute, but first let me update you on what’s been happening. First of all, for once this summer those of you who are reading this, if any of you are, have more snow then we do!!! It’s actually starting to warm up here, were supposed to reach the 50’s this weekend.
As you may have read, we had a lock-in last Friday. It was an awesome event! We had 17 teens, and throughout the night 3 other adults come and hangout with the teens. We played games as a crowd breaker, Uno, SET, Spoons and Nerts. These are all fun games that my kids have come to enjoy. After that we had snacks and then went and had a worship time and a short lesson of how we are not called to be PEZ dispensers.
Then we played DDR, that’s Dance Dance Revolution. We had 2 Xboxes and 4 Mats going at once. The kids loved this and it is a lot of fun to watch also. Then we had pizza and pop. We actually had 2 pizzas left over.
We then went into the sanctuary and had story time. I read an interactive book, with different voices, a blast!!! Then we played games and had food-eating contest. Can you believe that a sponsor, Judy, in her 50’s could eat almost 4 Twinkies in less than 90 seconds? We also did things like pudding eating contest, without using your hands. Feed your partner Cheetos, with your feet. This one was nasty because their feet were gross, sweaty, and stinky after play DDR. We took pictures, I will try to post some this coming week.
All I can say is…IT WAS FUN!!!!!
There are 2 girls in our youth group that have been hounding me about going on a mission trip this summer. They both went last year to the boys ranch and want to go somewhere else this summer. I talked to one of our friends who is a Youth Pastor and we decided that we would partner with their church on their trip. So it is decided that we arte going to Mexico this summer. I am little bummed because where we are going is right across the border from El Paso, Texas. My friend and college roommate, Joel was there until he got sent to Korea. It would have been fun to get to see him, but that’s ok.
So we are getting ready to start doing fundraiser, if you have ideas I wouldn’t mind them…
Here is our schedule of big events coming up.

Feb 19-21, Trip to Salina for Ministerial Retreat
March 5th Becky’s Birthday
March 15-17 Trip to Colorado Springs to celebrate Bday and shopping!?!?!?!?!?!
March 20-23 Spring Break Spiritual Retreat (Trip to mountains, weather permitting)
March 29-31 SOAR, Oklahoma Wesleyan’s Youth Conference
April 27-28 Acquire the Fire, In Denver, we have 60 tickets, hopefully we will have that many go with us…Praying for God to do a miracle.
May 20 CHS Graduation, 2 leaders are graduating
May21st Meeting with DBMD in Topeka, they tell me if I am getting Ordained or not.
July 9-13 Youth Camp in Nebraska
July 13-20 Mission Trip to Mexico
July 27-29 Praise Gathering in Hutchinson, Ks……Ordination Weekend!!!!
I think that’s all of the big ones, I’ll let you know more later…Love Ya…

Dance With Me!!!

I don’t have much to say today, but I thought I would get on here and atleast give a shout out to my peeps in the hood. Ok then, now that I got that out of my system….
I have been busy…I say that and actually mean it. Since Pastor Gene has been gone, I have done everything. I mean that literally. From preaching last Sunday, to answering the phone, hospital visits, making the bulletins, watering flowers, buying mouse traps, scheduling the order of the services just to name a few things that I have done for the last two and a half weeks. Thankfully Pastor Gene and Joy will be back Sunday Night!!!!!!!!!
So, I never knew how depressing winter can be. It’s horrible to drive anywhere in Colby thanks to the ice. No, we haven’t had anymore snow, but since the city never plowed the side streets, we have 2-6 inches of ice on the streets!! I Love Colby in the winter!
We are planning a couple of things for our Youth Group…This Sunday of course is the Super Bowl, and I wouldn’t be a good Youth Pastor if we didn’t have a party. The next thing is on Feb. 9th, Becky and I are planning an all night lock-in for our kids. It doesn’t sound like there will be a lot of them here but were going to do it anyway.
We are going to do worship, and play Dance Dance Revolution that night, but haven’t decided on the rest. If you have ideas of things to do, let us know…That’s it for now…Love Ya!!

Is winter over yet????

Wow--- The wonders of technolgy that connects all of us in one spot. There is so much that has been happening here that we really don't know where to begin...
The pastor has headed on a missions trip so Tim taking on the duties of the whole church. This is even more stressful with the snow. On the fly Tim may have to come up with a new sermon structure because the fill in may not be able to make it into town... Speaking of snow yesterday (Friday) was a balming 25 degrees to the positive. We were beginning to get ahead of the snow, and then came today. We woke up to snow, and we will be going to bed with snow, at least seven inches in one day.
It is becoming routine to pile on the layers just to put the dog outside... She just doesn't like to stay in the yard. Tonight Tim and I chased her in our pjs down the block.
My job as I know it now will be changing next year. I will more than likely be moving up to the Junior High School as a Paraprofessional. It seems to be okay, as long as I can have the answers for math questions that will pop up along the way. Who knew that math just two years ago was being taught to 5th graders very different than it is today.
We are working on three different rooms in the house to make them feel more like home. I have spent the last year working on a mural in the kitchen, but it is not yet completed. We have moved almost everything around in both bedrooms. We have a new bed that is very comfortable thanks to a very special Santa...
If anyone is in need of a winter wonderland back home let us know, because we are really willing to share at this point!

Love you all!!!!!

James has money!!!

So when we were at home over Christmas break it took a little while for my nephew Nick to figure out who Uncle Tim and Aunt Becky were. Well, when my brother and sister in law showed up for dinner it didn't take long for them to warm up to him. But it should be known that for the right amount of money Nick will like anybody.

If you look close...it looks like they are all sleeping. You need to listen to the whole story before you fall asleep.

It's really because of these two I miss Ohio so much some days...I love you guys!!!
